Verify the Authenticity of a Certificate

To verify a States University certificate, enter the registry number printed on the document (format CERT-…) in the field on this page, or scan the QR code on the PDF. The lookup is free and instant, and you don't need an account: it shows the course, the issue date, and the status of the record.

Don't have the number handy? Go to the holder portal to see your certificates.

Step by step

How do I verify a certificate?

Three steps, free, without an account. The same process works whether you received the document by email, on paper, or attached to a resume.

  1. Find the certificate number

The registry number is printed on the document in the format CERT-… If you prefer, scan the QR code on the PDF: it opens the verification page for that certificate directly.

  2. Enter the number on this page

Enter the code in the verification field above exactly as it appears on the document, including the prefix. The lookup is an exact match—it is not a directory of people.

  3. Review the verification result

On the certificate verification page, check the course name, the issue date, and the status of the record. A mismatch in any of the three is a reason to question the document.

Safeguards

What makes this verification reliable?

Three independent safeguards let an employer confirm on their own, in seconds, that the document in front of them was really issued by us.

Unique number

Every certificate has a verifiable code (CERT-…) generated cryptographically. An existing number cannot be guessed by trial and error.

QR code on the document

The PDF carries a QR code that points straight to the verification page for that certificate. The way to verify it is printed on the document itself.

Public verification

Anyone can confirm authenticity without creating an account or signing in. The lookup never shows the holder's ID number, date of birth, or contact details.
